13 Feb 🌿GRAB YOUR GARDEN GLOVES – FREE MULCH AVAILABLE FROM GLADSTONE REGIONAL COUNCIL 🌿
Are you on the lookout for something to give your garden an extra boost? Is it time to put that green
thumb to use? Gladstone Regional Council has just the thing for you – free mulch!
Free mulch will be available from the Rosedale Transfer Station from Monday 11 February, 2019 while stockpiles allow. Gladstone Regional Council Mayor, Matt Burnett said that council was committed to providing a comprehensive waste and recycling service to residents and aims to conserve natural resources and reduce waste to landfill. “Green waste material processed by Council generally comprises ground or shredded domestic tree and shrub prunings from residential addresses,” Councillor Burnett said.
Gladstone Region Councillor Rick Hansen said Council makes every effort to ensure a clean product is
produced and to eliminate impurities or contaminants. “This mulch is deemed suitable for garden use and can aid in the prevention of water loss from soils, weed growth and soil erosion when applied to a thickness of up to 20cm on top of the soil in your garden,” Cr Hansen said.
The Rosedale Transfer Station’s operating hours are from 8am – 11am, Thursday to Monday.
🌿 There is no cost for the mulch, however, a loading fee of $10 per trailer applies. For safety reasons,
trailers must be filled using the Council’s loader(s).
🌿All loads must be completely covered, and vehicles and trailers are not to be overloaded. A ‘no tarp,
no load’ policy will apply.
