A group of scientists from Southern Cross University are leading the world’s first Marine Cloud Brightening experiments, hoping to protect the reef ecosystem from severe marine heat and preserve one of Australia’s most beautiful natural wonders.
Led by Associate Professor Daniel Harrison and his team at the National Marine Science Centre, the program uses an end-to-end research approach to deliver six consecutive field experiments assessing the feasibility, effectiveness, and risks of this emerging climate intervention.
