GLADSTONE MEN’S SHED EARLY CHILDHOOD PROJECT GETS FUNDING BOOST

The Early Childhood Services Project operated by the Gladstone Men’s Shed was a successful recipient of funding from Round 1 2019/20 of the Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) Community Investment Program. The GPC Community Investment Program aims to make a real and positive contribution to the communities in which it operates. There are two funding opportunities available; Community Partnerships: This level of funding is for investment over $10,000 (excluding GST) and is dedicated to projects that have a broad scope, involve multiple parties and/or service multiple community needs. The other opportunity is Community Support: This level of funding is for investment up to $10,000 (excluding GST). This is entry-level support for events, activities, and/or programs that make a genuine ‘quality of life’ contribution to the community.

Since 2012 Early Childhood Centres have benefited from the skills and resources of the Gladstone Men’s Shed. Gladstone Men’s Shed President, Mr Ron Steen said the group was grateful that with the support of Gladstone Ports Corporation they could continue to offer the Early Childhood Services Project to the community throughout 2020.
