Gladstone South Swimming Club is abuzz with excitement as one of its own, 15-year-old Kayden Gibson, prepares to compete in the prestigious Australian Olympic Trials in Brisbane next week.
Kayden has secured his spot in the trials, where the Australian Olympic Swimming Team will be selected, after qualifying in his specialty event, the 200m Butterfly, in which he holds the title of the 15-year-old National Champion. Additionally, he will be participating in the 100m Butterfly, showcasing his versatility and skill in the pool. Despite his age, Kayden will be facing off against some of Australia’s top swimmers, including seasoned athletes like Matt Temple and David Morgan. “I m not really nervous but more so excited. Introducing myself to a new standard for competition opens up new challenges and I am excited to see what the challenges bring.” Kayden states.
