Helping Employers find the right fit

Helping Employers find the right fit

IN A TOWN THAT WAS ONCE DOMINATED BY TRADITIONAL TRADES, THE TECHNICAL COLLEGE HAS CHANGED JUST AS GLADSTONE HAS CHANGED. WE WANT TO GIVE OUR STUDENTS THE BEST OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE JOB SUCCESS.

This year we have specifically focused on five pathways; Business, Hospitality, Resources and Infrastructure, Automotive and Construction. Each one of these pathways is linked to a funded certificate which allows the students to specifically learn the skills they need to transition into work.

Here at the Technical College have two points of difference. Firstly, we offer one-on-one service with the employers to match them with the best student available and help with enquiries when needed. This includes learning needs, mentoring and student performance management. Secondly, with our two week rotation system, students have the potential to do over 1200 hours of work placement over their senior schooling years. This allows the employer to train and mould a young person into an outstanding work ready student.

“New World, New Vision, Your Future” is exactly what the Tech College is about as it gives you, the employer, the chance to pass knowledge and skills onto young people for the future of Gladstone.

Trevor Herbert

Bill Robertson Toyota has been involved as a host employer
with EQIP Technical College for 10 years offering students work
experience and guiding them into career paths.
“The benefit of partnering with Technical College is mature,
young people get industry experience and when we need
an apprentice we have access to a pre-trained worker.
I highly recommend the program.”

Jodie

Park Street News have been partnering with EQIP Technical
College to help many Gladstone students complete certificate III & IV in Retail Supervision.
“The greatest benefit is that we get young and enthusiastic staff
who get to see if they like the retail environment before signing
into a contract. The program is well supported, flexible and cost
efficient for the host employer. Its been great to see students
become a part of our team.”
