The Grand Hotel Many Peaks, a beloved Boyne Valley landmark, is set to reopen after nearly five years of closure. New owners Craig and Desley O’Grady are excited to breathe new life into the historic venue, marking a significant revival for both locals and visitors.
For Desley, acquiring the Grand Hotel has been a long-held dream. Located on Gladstone-Monto Road and close to the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail, the hotel’s reopening will bring new energy to the area. Desley, whose family has deep roots in the region, worked tirelessly to restore the hotel. After retiring from the Gladstone Regional Council, Desley and Craig’s caravanning adventure led to a reunion with a hotel licensee in Alice Springs, sparking the idea of reviving the Grand Hotel, with their friend joining as head chef.
