Hughesey Que Hosts Big Pink Breakfast to Fight Breast Cancer 

When asked how Hughesey Que got started, owner and chef Macca shared his culinary journey. After working in hospitality for 11 years, Macca discovered a passion for BBQ in 2015. The sweet, smoky aroma of slow-cooked meats drew him in, and in 2018, he turned his passion into Hughesey Que. “We wanted to bring something new to Gladstone—a BBQ experience filled with rich, bold flavours,” Macca said. What began as a backyard hobby has now grown into a beloved local business, with a goal to offer unforgettable BBQ experiences to the community.  

Hughesey Que’s menu is full of crowd-pleasers, from breakfast tacos to their popular Tailgate Feast. Their HQ Footy Favourites Box is also a hit on game days. But Macca insists every dish is special. “At Hughesey Que, we make sure each meal feels like a signature dish,” he explained. Whether it’s a single taco or a full BBQ feast, the goal is to create memorable dining experiences that keep people coming back.
