Ken’s Flynn in Focus – Students from Gindie State School Visit Parliament House in Canberra

Great to welcome the kids from Gindie State School to Parliament House this week.

Gindie is about 15 minutes outside of Emerald but the group travelled more than 1,500 kilometres to make their way to our nation’s capital.

A wonderful bunch of kids who had some great questions and keen interest in the workings of parliament. I had a number of MPs and staff comment how happy and well-behaved the kids were during their time at Parliament.

Congratulations to the teachers and parents who escorted the kids to Canberra, they all demonstrated the courtesy and politeness for which our regional centres are renowned. Proud to say our bush kids are always welcome visitors, flying the flag for regional communities. The group were off to the Australian War Memorial and the Australian Mint before completing their 3,000 km round trip.
