The Community Hospice aims to introduce much-needed palliative care for people with life-limiting conditions in the Central Queensland Region.
Queensland currently has eight active hospices, with the closest to the Gladstone Region situated in Hervey Bay. The rest of these hospices are located in South-East Queensland. The Fitzroy Community Hospice tender is now open to contract a builder for the first-ever Central Queensland hospice.
