03 Sep Meet Volunteer Terry Boyd
Where do you volunteer?
Every Friday afternoon at the Gladstone Courthouse for JP’s in the Community.
How long have you been volunteering there for?
Since 2002 when I retired.
Why do you choose to volunteer?
I have been a Justice of the Peace since 1967. After being in the ambulance service for 41 years I wanted to maintain my involvement in the community. I wanted to put something back into the community.
What is your favourite thing about volunteering?
Meeting people. You meet all sorts of people up there. Also, the sense of contributing something to the community.
What would you say to encourage others to volunteer?
It keeps the mind active. It is most important to keep my brain active and functioning well.
