Mt Larcom Cafe holds Charity Pie Drive

Mt Larcom Cafe has done their bit for charity, holding a pie drive during Gladstone’s Parks Week.

$1 from every pie sold during the drive was donated to two amazing charities, Rize Up Australia and Grab Life By The Balls.

The charity pie drive was organised by Pyney’s Pie Reviews who was able to get 200 bakeries and pie shops onboard. Pyney’s Pie Reviews is just one man on one mission: Find the perfect pie in Australia’s best bakeries.

Owner and operator of Mt Larcom Cafe Julie Beel explained how the cafe got involved with the pie drive,

“Pyney’s Pie Reviews came into my cafe many months ago and ordered a pie. When he finished eating he came back up to me and said ‘I don’t know if you know me’ and I said nope, he continued ‘I’m Pyney’s Pie Reviews I just wanted to let you know that your pie was a 9/10’. So we got talking and went from there.”

Julie continued, talking about the important role businesses play in supporting charities.

“It’s really important for businesses to help charities fundraise, especially during the hard times we’ve all faced over the last year.”

Julie and the team at Mt Larcom Cafe were able to raise and donate $220 to Rize Up Australia and Grab Life By The Balls. If you consider yourself a pie connoisseur be sure to taste test the great pies at the Mt Larcom Cafe.
