A new symbol of reflection and respect now stands proudly at Anzac Park, following the Gladstone Remembrance Day ceremony and the unveiling of their newly created National Servicemen’s Association Memorial Chair.
Unlike traditional masonry monuments, the Association chose a laser-cut steel chair positioned to face the Cenotaph, inviting the public to sit, pause, and honour not only those who gave their lives, but all who served to protect the nation. When sunlight passes through the design, the chair casts a striking silhouette of the words “REMEMBER THEM” onto the concrete below, creating a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made.
