New regional resort set to be built in Burua

Last week plans emerged of a resort which is set to be established in the Gladstone Region. The plans have been discussed with various stakeholders such as Gladstone Regional Council for the last four years, originally intended to be a caravan park. However, the new revised resort plan is progressing with developers Gracemere Surveying and Planning Consultants seeking community consultation.

The plans reveal the resort will include a gym, water-park and children’s splash pool, basketball and tennis courts, as well as a mini golf course. There will also be an open air cinema, restaurant and function room.

$21.5 million is the expected budget for the resort construction and over 100 jobs are estimated to be created.

The comment period for region’s residents will be open until May 2017. You can email info@gladstonerc.qld.gov.au or phone 4970 0700 to have your say.
