The successful applicants for Round 1 of the Federal Government’s 2024-25 Local Sporting Champions and Local Para Campions programs have been announced, with over $47,000 allocated to 79 young athletes from the Gladstone region and beyond. This funding will help support the costs of participating in state or national championships.
The athletes come from various communities within the region, including Alton Downs, Benaraby, Blackwater, Boyne Island/ Tannum Sands, Bungadoo, Calliope, Dalma, Emerald, Gayndah, Gin Gin, Gladstone, Gooburrum, Gracemere, Lawgi Dawes, Marmor, Mount Larcom, Mundubbera and Whycarbah.
