The Tannum Sands foreshore was awash with pink on Sunday as the community came together for the 16th annual Mother’s Day Classic at the Millennium Esplanade. Part of a nationwide series of fun runs and walks held at over 90 locations, the event supports life-saving research into breast and ovarian cancer.
Since its inception in 1998, the Mother’s Day Classic has raised $46.1 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. In 2024, the event broadened its mission to include support for ovarian cancer research, already raising $1.2 million for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
