In a significant move to tackle housing shortages in Gladstone, the Queensland Government has partnered with Roseberry Queensland to develop Waybeah Friend St Village—a new hub for social and affordable housing. Supported by Queensland’s Housing Investment Fund, this project is set to transform the Barney Beach property into a vibrant community space designed to meet diverse housing needs.
The new development will feature 85 cabins, including 20 social units and 65 affordable units. Roseberry Queensland will manage the site, continuing its crucial role in homelessness support and ensuring that Waybeah Friend St Village becomes a cornerstone of long-term accommodation solutions.
