The recently-announced pipeline will create 400 local jobs, and is expected to be completed in 2026.
The pipeline was recently officially approved for construction, and will deliver water security to the Gladstone Region which will support the production of more job-creating industries in Central Queensland. This will add to the current $6 billion in gross regional product produced by industries in Gladstone annually, with all of these dependant on access to water security.
