23 Aug Recipe for Seafood Gumbo

- Chicken stock
- Bay leaves
- Tabasco sauce
Step 1 :
Begin by cooking the sausages over medium heat, in a large pot or Dutch oven. Ensure that the sausages are brown on all sides and cooked thoroughly, before removing it from the pan and setting it aside on a plate to cool down.
Now it’s time to make the roux. Add the oil and flour to the pan and start to whisk until the mixture is combined. Cook the roux over medium heat, while slowly stirring until it becomes a dark brown consistency. Once the roux is dark brown, add the vegetables and cook for a few minutes.
Next, it’s time to add in the chicken stock, bay leaves, and salt and pepper. Bring the gumbo to a simmer and then cook for 10 minutes.
Add the sausages back into the pot.
Finally, add the shrimp and tabasco sauce and cook for about 6 to 8 minutes and then serve.
