An investment in the upcoming State Budget will ensure that free period products will be made available to every school in Queensland.
The investment will provide Queensland’s ‘Share the Dignity’ charity with funding to expand their ‘Dignity Vending Machine’ initiative. Having these vending machines available in every school will ensure that no children have to worry about their periods getting in the way of their education. Toolooa State High School was recently granted the opportunity to have a Dignity Vending Machine installed but now thanks to this funding, all schools in the Gladstone Region will be eligible.
As well as vending machines, schools in the region will also be eligible for Share the Dignity’s menstruation education program called ‘Period Talk’.
