Stockland Gladstone is undergoing a $5 million upgrade to provide an enhanced experience at the shopping centre. Works have commenced on site. In addition to the recently expanded Kmart store, there will be four new retail shops which will be located within the former Target site.

The development works will also include complete renovations of the centre’s bathrooms, upgrades to the nearby traffic intersection, resurfacing majority of the carpark and the addition of shade sails to a section of the carpark.

Diana Mitchell, Centre Manager Stockland Gladstone explained that the upgrade demonstrated Stockland Gladstone’s commitment to the local community. “We’re very excited to be upgrading Stockland Gladstone and look forward to enhancing the overall shopping experience of our customers,” Ms Mitchell said. “These works respond to the evolving needs of the community and will provide a refreshed experience at the former Target site, and we look forward to announcing some exciting new tenants shortly,” Ms Mitchell added.

Stockland Gladstone is also committed to supporting the local community and anticipate that the project will generate a number of new jobs for locals. Almost 30 per cent of contractor packages have been awarded to local companies and the majority of remaining contracts have been awarded to companies in the broader Central Queensland region.

The renovations are scheduled to be delivered by Spring 2019 and Stockland Gladstone Shopping Centre will remain fully operational during the entire development program. All work will be carefully scheduled and coordinated to minimise disruption to customers and retailers.
