Registrations are now open for this year’s Tour de Chaplain which will be held on the 23rd of July. While the event is a fun filled and healthy way to spend a Saturday, Gladstone News would like to let you know how important the public’s support of the ride is.
At the moment 11 Chaplains are employed and work across 14 Primary and High schools in our region, providing social and emotional support to our school communities. The role of school chaplain is to provide social, emotional and spiritual support to students in schools. Several studies around the world have shown that a school-based resource, such as a Chaplain that focuses on these kinds of support, has positive educational impacts. School Chaplains also help out with fundraising projects and other school programs, and offer an immeasurable support to the school and therefore the community.
