Since 1998, the Mother’s Day Classic has been dedicated to fundraising to save women’s lives. In 2024, the foundation took one step further and made it their mission to stop both ovarian and breast cancer in their tracks. In the last 27 years, Australians have donated $46.1 million to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and since 2024, $1.2 million to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. In 2025, the Mother’s Day Classic are asking the community to come together to walk or run and accelerate progress towards a day where every woman diagnosed with either breast or ovarian cancer will be given the assurance that they can survive.
With the support of our local community in 2024, we were able to raise $21,111.74 and had a massive 474 registrations for the walk/run events on the day. 2025 will be the 16th year that Tannum Sands has hosted this event, and we are hoping to bring a record number of participants.
