OFFICIAL LAUNCH: All are welcome to join Cr Matt Burnett, Mayor of Gladstone Region, for the official exhibition launch of the ‘Tattersall’s Club Landscape Art Prize’ at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum this Friday 2 September, at 6pm.
Displayed until 1 October, the exhibition celebrates the Tattersall’s Club’s 150th anniversary and 25 years of their national Landscape Art Prize. Fifteen award winning works by mid and senior career artists are on tour, featuring a wide range of painting styles including traditional, contemporary, narrative, industrial and urban.
‘Tattersall’s Club Landscape Art Prize’ is organised by Tattersall’s Club Brisbane, and toured by Museums & Galleries Queensland. The project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
The Gallery & Museum is open 10am – 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY: In conjunction with the Gladstone Region Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), Gladstone Regional Council welcomes aha! good thinking Director Stephen Clark, to three locations across the region, presenting ‘Pop-Up Public Art, Art in the Park’ project proposal workshop opportunities, 8, 9 and 10 September.
Join in at one of the locations, Calliope, Agnes Water or Gladstone, for an introduction to the proposed Gladstone Region Art in the Park public art project and work collaboratively or as individuals, to develop innovative public art ideas and strategies. Participants will spend time cultivating an ephemeral public art concept and develop project planning, budgeting and risk management skills.
