Port City Power set to face off against Ipswich Force

Duane Jacobsen, Port City Power’s President, said that the performance was outstanding by both the Men’s and Women’s team, with both teams displaying an exceptional effort against their opposition.

“Last weekend the Port City Power Men’s and Women’s teams recently had top of the table clashes against The Southern Districts Spartans. The women’s game was a 1 v 1 clash, which resulted in Port City Power taking out the win which was 91 – 58. A great defensive and rebound performance was seen by Aliah Warner, which saw her receive Player of the Match,” said Duane.

“The Men’s team put up a good fight against the Spartan Men’s, but went down 88 – 63. A solid performance was seen by Cooper Rhodes, which earned him the Player of the Match,”

“Port City Power Men’s and Women’s last regular season home game is on Sunday 2nd July, which will see them taking on the Ipswich Force. The women’s tipping off, will start at approximately 11am whilst the Men’s will commence at 1pm. Hopefully our women’s team can pull off a big win, which will secure them with a place in the semi-final,” said Duane.

“There will also be an U12 rep exhibition match that’ll start before the women’s game at 9:30am, so come on down and cheer on our juniors and the Port City Power!”

The Port City Power U14 Rep teams are heading to State Championships, with the U14 boys set to be heading to Townsville. Meanwhile, the U14 girls will be heading to Toowoomba to take on all other clubs statewide.

“We wish them all the best! We are also having a holiday camp on the school holidays, which will be run by our Port City Power stars as well as head coach Ray Cooper on the 6th and 7th of July, so be sure to follow our socials for more information and to register.” said Duane.
