The approval of Project Halogen is another welcome sign that Gladstone remains one of Queensland’s most important economic engines. With the recent approval of Grenof’s Project Halogen by the Coordinator-General, marking another positive milestone for the region’s economic future.
The proposed $150 million development will include the construction of a new chlor-alkali facility within the Gladstone State Development Area. Once operational, the facility will produce chlorine and caustic soda, two essential industrial products used across a wide range of sectors including resources, manufacturing, water treatment and industrial processing.
